For the love of ... In my experience in schools, I've seen nothing that amazes a child more than finding out that an adult likes (or even knows the first thing about) Pokémon. The one thing I miss since leaving teaching was drawing Pokémon for the kids (they loved it!). And even more amazing to them was when I told them that I don't watch the show with my kid...I watch it with my boyfriend (now my husband...almost forgot the most important update!), and we don't even have kids. The continuing stories make Pokémon as intriguing as a soap opera and with the ever-growing cast of characters there's always something new to look forward to. Pokémon has an arsenal of fans on its side, and after all, we're the ones who continue to keep Pokémon going by playing the games, watching the anime, buying the collectibles, and running the fansites. Over the years, I've seen Ash go from a cocky, inexperienced kid only interested in winning and beating his rival Gary, to a compassionate trainer who cares deeply about all Pokémon as well as his own, and is always learning more about them so he and his friends can better understand their world. Just watch a few episodes, get to know some of the characters, and maybe you'll ask yourself again - can adults really learn to love Pokémon...Meowth, that's right!
Recommended episode(s): "Get the Show on the Road" (Pokémon Advanced [sixth season])
-As a new trainer, May has no interest in Pokémon, but quickly bonds with her Torchic after meeting Ash and Pikachu
